The promise fulfilled:
Eternity in paradise

Peaceful but pensive, hands clasped,
Surrounded by devoted companions.
Telling endless tales they listen intently,
His eyes light up and his smile widens..

All around, the thoughtless cruel world remained
Yet through the misery his cheerful face could be seen.
Battling on though rough times came,
doubts arose but he never lost faith.

Now he sits long awaited for
On silken sand beaches, a deserted shore.
Light all around, no trace of darkness
Soft rays shine on his new perfect face.

Racing waves, crystal tongues of sea,
Breaking into a desolate coast.
Dancing rain, glass-like balls
Bouncing off motionless structures.

His exquisitely transformed body,
Leaps and bounds, the pain forever gone.
Like a bird, freed from the enclosed darkness
Into the endless blue horizon.

Freed at last, he suffers no more.
All his treasures surround him as promised,
Eternity in a rainbow of joy.
Now, his last wish:
That we may live in love and peace.
Can we fulfil this one desire?
