Where were you
when I asked for
your company to keep fit?
One more sandwich makes me sick.
Where were you when I longed to
swim in the sea, muck in sand?
Having a bath on your own?
Where were you
when I came home?
- did I light deep in your eyes?
Or meal-time shallow mouth moves?
At the dawn of a new start,
I need jumped up on and kissed.
(Not licks spent on a new car!)
Where were you
when I started
the last long lap of a run?
Pushed limits? Or rushed away?
Where were you when I needed
you to stop and play a game?
Endless work for the next day?
Where were you
when I cried:
"Help!" - not to be left alone?
Help to express our feelings.
Don't be surprised, my first love,
that I miss another more
Who reached out to fill that role.
Where were you
when I needed
your gentle touch (not so crude!)
Simm'ring slowly near my feet?
Where were you with precious words
preserving me young at heart?
Knives cutting grey hairs instead.
Where am I in
your lone dreams,
when touching close, skin to skin?
How did I become your nightmare?
Please understand, my luvly?
Try again! I need your help
To win me back to be yours.
