A Season for Sharing

Ó 1998 Alan C Dougall

Winter Wearing a robe with a belt around his waist, Brian sees Micah shivering and with her arms clasped tightly around her body. He takes off his robe, drapes it around Micah's shoulders, and belts it together around his waist before departing.
Spring As the rain pours down, Alan appears with a broken brolly. On seeing Alan's distress, Micah offers the robe to Alan to cover his head. Alan gladly accepts it, and uses the belt to tie around his neck.
Summer The rain stops as Jeremy appears with a pair of sunglasses and an oar. Alan discards the robe with the belt and passes it on to Jeremy to use, Can you make use of this? Jeremy nods. As the heat of the day begins to swelter, Jeremy carefully tears the robe in half. He spreads one piece of the robe over an old structure (such as a table on its side), supported by the oar and tied with the belt to shelter him from the sun and the remaining piece of robe he lays underneath the shelter. He lies down under the shade he has made.
Fall As Alan returns, he sees what Jeremy has done to his robe and belt. Feeling a bit jealous and dismayed, What have you done with my robe?

Then Alan freezes and looks up and then falls to his knees, Lord, help me to really give without constraint; share without needing to control.
